VerificaBol Privacy Policy

Data collection

VerificaBol does not collect or share users' personal data. We don't ask for your name, email, phone number, or any other identifiable data. Some data, like your verification history, is stored only on your device — see the sections below.

Camera use

The app requests camera access only to read a bill's serial number. Images and serial numbers are processed locally on your device — they are never saved or sent to external servers.

Bill verification

Serial numbers are checked offline against the official ranges published by the Central Bank of Bolivia (BCB) in Official Press Release CP9/2026.

Verification history

The app stores a local history of your verifications (denomination, serial number, and result) on your own device, so you can review them later from the History screen. This history is never sent to external servers or shared with anyone, and you can clear it completely at any time from that same screen.

Exchange rate

The Exchange Rate tab queries our own server (verificabol-api), which periodically aggregates rates from public sources (Banco Central de Bolivia, factura.bo, and P2P cryptocurrency markets) to calculate the official and parallel exchange rate. Your device no longer contacts those external sources directly — it only talks to our server, which requires no account or user identifier and includes no personal data in its requests. The result is cached temporarily on your device for offline viewing.

Fuel prices

The Fuel tab also queries our own server (verificabol-api), which periodically aggregates the public diesel, gasoline, and GNV prices published by the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) and YPFB. As with the exchange rate, your device only talks to our server, which requires no account or user identifier and includes no personal data in its requests. The fetched prices and the diesel history are cached temporarily on your device for offline viewing.

Widget and background refresh

The home-screen widget shows the last exchange rate cached locally on your device and updates whenever you open the app or refresh the Exchange Rate tab. The app may also schedule a periodic background task to refresh that same public rate so the widget stays current without opening the app; this task queries the same source described above, doesn't access your location or other device data, and the OS decides when to run it (it may go hours or days without running).

Notifications

VerificaBol may ask for permission to send you local notifications: a configurable daily reminder and an alert when the official BCB rate changes or when the BCB publishes the next day's official rate (rate-change alerts capped at once a day). These notifications are scheduled directly on your device — we don't use a push notification service, and we don't store your device token on any server. You can disable them at any time from the app's or the OS's settings.

Sharing, inviting, and rating the app

The "Share," "Invite a friend," and "Rate the app" features use your system's native sheets and screens (share sheet, messaging, App Store/Play Store). "Share" generates an image locally on your device with a verification result or the exchange rate; none of these features upload or transmit data to VerificaBol's servers, and you choose whether and through which app to send it.

Bill-related data comes from official Banco Central de Bolivia (BCB) channels. For official verification, visit bcb.gob.bo. Fuel prices come from public sources of the Agencia Nacional de Hidrocarburos (ANH) and YPFB.

Legal notice and non-affiliation

VerificaBol is an independent application. It is NOT owned, endorsed, or affiliated with the Banco Central de Bolivia or any government entity.

Third-party services and analytics

VerificaBol does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Data retention

We don't keep any history on our servers. The verification history described above is stored exclusively on your device — you decide how long to keep it and can clear it completely whenever you want. Your daily-reminder preference, the last rate value you were notified about, the widget cache, and the fuel-price cache are also stored only on your device, never on our servers.

Updates to this policy

This policy may be updated periodically. The current version is always available at this same page.

Developer responsibility

The developer is solely responsible for the app's operation.
